Author Biography
Dr. Lane Robson
Dr. Lane Robson has over forty years of experience as a physician helping children and their families. He is a native Calgarian and graduated in the first medical class at the University of Calgary in 1973.
After completing fellowships in pediatrics and nephrology at the University of Toronto he returned to Calgary in 1979 where he started the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Calgary. From 1993 to 2005, Dr. Robson worked, studied, taught, and did research abroad. During this time he served in a variety of administrative and academic capacities including Professor of Pediatrics at Brown University and Professor of Pediatric Urology at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Robson has published over 550 papers including over 50 original research articles and over 15 chapters. He serves on the editorial board of two medical publications and is a reviewer for over a dozen international journals.
Lane Robson has received a variety of distinctions including Teacher of the Year at Foothills Hospital in 1991, Maternal and Child Health Award presented by the Governor of the State of South Carolina in 1998, and an honorary Masters Degree from Brown University in 2001. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada – FRCP(C), a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow – FRCP(Glasgow), and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health – FRSPH.
The treatment of voiding problems in children has been Dr. Robson’s main clinical interest for over two decades. He has treated thousands of children for these problems and has published over 60 chapters, original articles, reviews, and letters on this subject. In 2009 he was invited to write a review article for the New England Journal of Medicine, the most prestigious medical journal in the world.
